A quick guide to choosing a flagpole
Choosing a flagpole may seem quite daunting, but if you break it down into several key areas, it should prove a relatively easy excercise. The three main factors to take into account are:
Location & Height of the flagpole: We have many different heights of flagpoles, ranging from 4.5 metres (approx 15') to 10 metres (approx 33'). Key factors to consider is the height of surrounding buildings, trees or any wires from telegraph poles, power lines etc....
Flagpole Material: The main types of materials used in the manufacture of flagpoles these days are aluminium or fibreglass which will last many years and should require little or no maintenance. Aluminium flagpoles tend to be sectional and easy to transport whereas the fibreglass flagpoles are normally one-piece. Generally sectional aluminium poles are more suited to the residential market and fibreglass flagpoles are popular with hotels, golf clubs, schools, universities etc...
Flagpole Budget: Flagpoles can vary in price from a £55 value flagpole to a custom made or bespoke flagpole which can cost thousands. Flagpoles are normally a "one off" purchase so keep that in mind when setting a budget.
